{"id":1136,"date":"2024-12-03T19:54:42","date_gmt":"2024-12-03T18:54:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.raidengland.org\/?page_id=1136"},"modified":"2024-12-14T00:02:13","modified_gmt":"2024-12-13T23:02:13","slug":"programme-2025","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.raidengland.org\/?page_id=1136","title":{"rendered":"Programme 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Firth of Forth Raid<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Dates: Monday 21 &#8211; Friday 26 July 2025<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Raid will be based at the Cragleith House,  Fettes College, Edinburgh with sailing from Granton Harbour and the Royal Forth Yacht Club, as well as Port Edgar Marina at Queensferry (but see below in Accommodation section)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Craigleith House (<a href=\"https:\/\/fettesthevenue.com\/en-suiteaccommodation\/\">https:\/\/fettesthevenue.com\/en-suiteaccommodation\/<\/a>) provides accommodation in 11 twin-bedded rooms whilst the rest is in  single-bedded rooms.  All rooms are en-suite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the accommodation price, Fettes will provide Breakfast, a packed Lunch and 3-course Dinner for each participant.  At the moment they are unwilling, for safeguarding reasons, to provide meals for non-residents (but see below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are also unwilling to allow camper van living on-site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>N.B. Following further negotiations  we are now able to allow live -aboards and off-site camper-vanners to attend the Raid with lunches and evening Dinners provided by Fettes.  However, they have asked, for security reasons, that these raiders are off school grounds by 22:00.   <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trailers can be parked at the RFYC after launching. Due to tidal restrictions we may move the fleet to Port Edgar on Wednesday afternoon\/evening for the Thursday and Friday sailing.  However, there are currently plans to dredge Granton Harbour in early 2025 which may mean that this is unnecessary. Fettes appears to be encircled by Waitrose, Morrisions, Sainsbury&#8217;s Tesco, Co-op, Lidl, and CostCutter all between 0.6 and 1.5 miles away.  Dying of thirst is therefore unlikely to be on any risk assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have arranged to base the fleet at Granton Harbour, using the facilities of the Royal Forth Yacht Club (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.royalforth.org\/\">https:\/\/www.royalforth.org\/<\/a>) whose help is greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the moment, due to the tides at the time of the Raid, we are due to move (on Wednesday evening) to Port Edgar for the Thursday and Friday sailing days.  However, Granton harbour is due to have some dredging done in early 2025 which may make this unnecessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>FOOD:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All Raiders will be provided with: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Breakfast at Craigleith House Tuesday to Saturday (except for live-aboards and camper-vanners) <\/li><li>Packed lunches Tuesday to Friday <\/li><li>Supper Monday to Friday evenings<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>COST:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The cost of the raid (including en-suite accommodation) is as follows (this includes 5 breakfasts, 4 packed lunches, 5 dinners, mooring fees, car and trailer parking).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a3640 per person (arrive Monday, depart Saturday), but see below.   <br>There are a limited number of twin-bedded rooms. Please note that all rooms, including the single rooms are en-suite.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you are a live-aboard or a camper-vanner (off-site) then the cost of the Raid is \u00a3328 per person (to include 4 packed lunches, 5 dinners, mooring fees, car and trailer parking) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the deposit required from Fettes I am required to ask for a higher than normal deposit this year of \u00a3105 per person.&nbsp; If a booking is cancelled after the initial deposit is received it may be possible to refund it after the Raid once all bills are settled if funds permit.&nbsp; However this is not guaranteed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>402410, 61420933 and Raid England are the details you will need if making a BACS transfer.
